Where boat trips leave from
Almost every boat trip in Albufeira leaves from Albufeira Marina, west of the Old Town. It has parking, cafés and the operators’ offices, and is a short taxi ride from the Strip and the main hotels. Some trips also run from Vilamoura Marina, about 20 minutes east.
Dolphins, caves or both?
Most 2 to 2.5 hour trips combine a dolphin search offshore with the sea caves on the way back, including the Benagil area about 20 minutes east by boat. Since 2024, boats cannot land on the beach inside Benagil cave, so you see it from the water. Small boats can enter the cave; larger catamarans stop at the entrance.
Shared trip or private boat?
Shared trips are the best value for couples and families. If you are a group of 8 or more, or celebrating something, a private boat or yacht can cost less per person than you expect and lets you choose your own time and route.
